The Grants Coordinator, Melba Taylor, presented two PG&D proposals submitted for funding. A motion was made and seconded to accept both proposals for funding. The motion carried. The Virginia Highlands Community College Proposal entitled "Recruitment and Retention of Minority Students in Southwest Virginia" was approved in the amount of $1700. The Blue Ridge Community College Proposal entitled "Test Writing Made Easy" was approved in the amount $750.

The Committee discussed the possibility and feasibility of corporate sponsors for Leadership and Convention to help defray expenses of convention materials, wellness activities, coffee house networking, etc. The committee will follow up on this at the January meeting.

A supplies closet will be maintained at LFCC for all VCCA convention and conference materials. Everyone agreed that it would be easier for the Publications Liaison to maintain inventory when supplies are in one location. Materials would be distributed from the central supply area upon request from Executive Committee members or VCCA College Contacts.

Committee assignments were made for the Leadership Conference in February, with the final agenda being complete at the January Executive Committee Meeting.

The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be held on January 21-22, 1999 in Harrisonburg, with February 4-5 set as a snow day.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 11:30 a.m. Motion carried. The Committee was invited to tour the Middletown Campus of Lord Fairfax Community College
