The meeting was called to order at 8:40 a.m. at the Ramada Inn in Woodstock, Virginia, by VCCA President, Virginia Hartman.

 

Members Present:

Virginia Hartman  (LFCC) --  President

Nancy Lewis (ESCC) -- Member at Large, 1-1000 FTE

Nancy Penney (LFCC) -- Member at Large, 1001-2000 FTE

Sue Painter (LFCC)-- Publications Liaison

Sue Captain (SWVCC) -- Parliamentarian

Deborah Canada (JSRCC) -- Member at Large, 2001-5000 FTE

The theme of the 1999 Fall VCCA Convention was unanimously approved by the Executive Committee:  “Commitment to Excellence in the 21^st Century.”

 

Co-sponsors of the Convention were named:

 

          Dr. S. A. Burnette, JSRCC, President

          And Dr. Marilyn Beck, LFCC, President

The President was authorized to send letters of invitation to both college presidents.

 

The Convention agenda, concurrent sessions, showcases, speaker suggestions, site arrangements, vendors, and promotional items were discussed.

 

The Fall Convention will be held at the Hyatt Richmond, October 7-8-9, 1999, beginning at 1 p.m. on Thursday and ending with the Assembly of Delegates at 10 a.m. Saturday.

 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn at 11:30 a.m.  Motion carried. The next meeting of the Executive Committee will be held on June 16, 1999, at 8:30 a.m. at Eastern Shore.
