The meeting was called to order at 9:30 a.m. at
the Ramada Inn in Harrisonburg, Virginia, by VCCA President, Virginia Hartman.

The
morning agenda included discussion on the February 25-26 Leadership Conference
to be held at the Hyatt Richmond. Zeb
Davenport of James Madison University and Edwin Barnes, President of New River
Community College agreed to be featured speakers at the Leadership
Conference. The Chancellor has agreed
to give the welcome. Melba Taylor,
Immediate Past President reported on the final site arrangements.
Each
committee member was asked to bring promotional materials from their college to
give as favors at the conference.
The
Treasurer and Membership Liaison were designated to handle the registration
table.

In
addition to the general registration package for each participant, each
commission liaison will be given packets
with materials that will aid to enhance the activities of their
commission.
Nancy Lewis, MAL 0-1000, was designated to provide
a video record of the activities of the Leadership conference.
The Executive Committee provided information and
suggestions to Nancy Penney, MAL 1001-2000, and Deborah Canada, MAL 2001-5000
for their portion of the Leadership Conference.
A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 11:00
a.m. Motion carried. The next meeting of the
VCCA Executive Committee will be held on February 24, 1999, in Richmond (prior
to the Leadership Conference).
The Executive Committee then toured Blue Ridge
Community College, host college of President-Elect, Lori Wack.
