June 16, 1999

 

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 p.m. at the Refuge Inn in Chincoteaque, Virginia, by VCCA President, Virginia Hartman.

 

Members Present:

Members Absent:

Because of illness, extra time was spent on reading minutes of meetings and making corrections as needed.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the January 21, 1999 meeting of the VCCA Executive Committee, as corrected.  Motion carried.

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the January 22, 1999, meeting of the VCCA Executive Committee, as read.  Motion carried.

June 16, 1999

 

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the February 24, 1999 meeting of the VCCA Executive Committee, as corrected.  Motion carried.

 

The president reviewed the agenda for the June 17 and 18.  General discussion focused on the upcoming fall convention. Everyone was asked to review the convention plans from the last meeting in preparation for the June 17 meeting.

 

VCCA President, Virginia Hartman, was asked to write a letter of appreciation to Dr. Jenkins, Eastern Shore Community College, for his introductory remarks and overview of the history of community colleges in Virginia during the hospitality/networking session preceding the meeting.

 

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 p.m.  Motion carried. The next meeting of the VCCA Executive Committee will be June 17, 1999, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
